For more than 60 years, we have been effectively reaching at-risk youth gang members and victims of human trafficking. Our founders started this Ministry Institute to train leaders in effective evangelism, discipleship and outreach ministry. RON BROWN
As Executive Director, Ron Brown oversees the ministry of Teen Challenge Southern California and its ten ministry locations, including centers headquartered in Kern County, Ventura/Tri-County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego County and Central Valley. Ron is passionate about leadership development and encourages pastors and Christian leaders through conferences and seminars locally, nationally, and internationally.
MICAH HALE
Micah grew up in a Christian home but after a debilitating injury in college, he became addicted to prescription painkillers. He came to Teen Challenge Southern California, where he completed the one-year program and then a six-month apprenticeship in Orange County. He went on to graduate from Teen Challenge Ministry Institute and then received a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and Leadership at Vanguard University. Today he serves as director at TCMI.
CITYWIDE EVANGELISM
Join us in bringing the message of Jesus all throughout the city of Los Angeles. Weekly we travel all across the city and share our stories with anyone who will listen. We prioritize finding creative ways to engage the community with the Gospel. Whether its Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Boulevard, or Downtown LA, our mission is to see people from every corner of the city come to know Jesus!
JUSTICE MINISTRY
Our community is passionate about not just telling people about Jesus, but showing people Jesus’ love through action as well. We are partnered with various organizations throughout the city that enable us to serve people rescued from human trafficking, children whose parents are incarcerated, and the large homeless population in our city. The homelessness crisis in Los Angeles is rapidly escalating. Weekly, we have the opportunity to go to Skid Row, our nations homelessness capital, and serve those in need. We bring food as well as hygienic products, clothes, and blankets. We lead a meeting on the street where anyone can come, hang out with us, and hear an encouraging message!
YOUTH MINISTRY
We know how important it is to introduce people to Jesus at a young age. We work alongside different ministries that reach out to young people ranging from kindergarten to high school students. We serve in after school tutoring programs, summer camps, and midweek youth meetings that reach out to at-risk young people in the community. We want to see young people enter into the life and will that God has for them and to see future leaders of the church in our city raised up!
